Fellow uncles please don’t make any promise you know you won’t fulfill this coming Eid. My nephew is still mad at me for the sin of last year. He removed uncle from my name, Now I’m just Sheriff
Dear Sheriff (Letter from an Angry Nephew)
It’s me Furqon, yes your little nephew. Don’t be surprised that I didn’t add respect to your name. Yes, it wasn’t a mistake that I didn’t write “Uncle Sheriff”
You lost that title since last year. Despite being my bestie, you slied me. Who does that? Only Sheriff! How could you? How on earth? Have you no shame? If this paper is wet and rough, it’s my spit of disgust on it.
You are a promise breaker and a big bad person. We both agreed that you’ll take me to Lagos with you after Eid last year but when all was set, you asked me to go and bring your purse from under the cushion in the living room.
While inside I heard a revving engine but I trusted you with all my heart and kept searching for a purse that was never there. You backstabbed me, I came out and your car was gone!
Anyways, I wrote this letter to tell you to go and learn all the tricks you can learn. I heard your phone conversation with daddy. You’re coming home this Friday.
Trust me uncle, none of your tricks will work this year. If you like disappear, we’ll both appear together in Lagos. I sent you this heads up because unlike you, I’ve got dignity.
