Lingers (A Poem)

'Lingers' by Horpsy-jay mirrors a broken heart, it gives an insight into the expressions of a heart that has been broken. Lingers, enjoy.

Lingers (A Poem)

I’m back at the crossroads,

Where you left me;

Never wanted you to leave, But what to do?

You jerked my grip and took your leave,

Avoid my gaze and turned your back;

My heart in twain, you took the half,

I ran the lane, to search for you,

But all in vain, you’re far ahead;

Sweet melodies, that’s all we’ve had,

But here we are, you’ve messed it up,

“It’s not my fault” that’s all you say;

You know the game, it’s just for two;

I lay awake, and watch the stars,

They carve your name, they draw your smiles;

I hope you feel, the way I do,

I want you back, I can’t deny,

My heart a drum, it beats for you.
